The Mets signed three more picks from the 2023 draft on Saturday. Third round picks Nolan McLean and kade morris, along with supplemental fourth-round pick AJ Ewing, signed with the Mets on Saturday. McLean is a two-way player for Oklahoma State; Morris is an RHP from Nevada, and Ewing is a high school shortstop from Ohio. All three officially began their professional journeys with the Mets on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the major league Mets lost 5-1 to the Dodgers and lost the series. They have scored just one run and four hits in two games since the All-Star break. They will be looking to at least save the final game of the series today at 1:40 pm with Max Scherzer on the mound

Callis’s MLB Pipeline noted that Mets supplemental fourth-round pick AJ Ewing also signed Saturday. He signed for $675,000 (the value of the 134th pick was $483,000). It was the choice of compensation for jacob degrom. Ewing is a shortstop for an Ohio high school. He has an “intriguing combination of bat speed, foot speed and arm strength,” according to Callis. He is a recruit from Alabama.
