HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University women’s basketball team will suit up Monday at noon to face up against Jackson State at the Pride Roofing University Center.

Southeastern went 1-1 this past week. Tuesday, SLU opened the week with a commanding 90-30 win over Southern-New Orleans, before falling 73-50, to LSU Friday.
Newcomers Cheyanne Daniels and Kennedy Paul have proven to be solid additions for the Lady Lions. Daniels led with double digits Tuesday night versus Southern-New Orleans with 17 points while Paul put together double-digits against LSU with 12 points and six rebounds. Veteran leader Hailey Giaratano has remained consistent the last four games for Southeastern averaging double-digit scoring.
Jackson State went 1-0 last week with a dominant 105-47 victory over Tougaloo College. The Tigers start the season off undefeated with two games resulting in over 100 points. Four players for Jackson State are contributing double-digit scoring led by graduate student Daphne White averaging 15 points a game. The Tigers have out rebounded opponents 102-46 the last two games.
Monday’s game will honor sophomore Allasia Washington as the Spotlight Player. After Monday’s matchup, SLU will host Mobile Saturday at 1 p.m. Nov. 20 to close out its four game home stretch.
