Francis Ngannou Shoots Dana White Over GIMIK Fight… – BJPENN.COM

If Dana White ever needs to do a trick fight, former UFC champion Francis Ngannou is close by.
Earlier this month, ‘The Predator’ announced his boxing debut against Tyson Fury. That fight had been a long time in the making, as ‘The Gypsy King’ previously faced Francis Ngannou last April. The two heavyweight champions shared the ring for a brief moment after Fury’s knockout victory over Dillian Whyte.
At the time, Francis Ngannou was the UFC heavyweight champion. Although he publicly called the fight, by contract he could not box without the approval of dana white. The UFC president criticized the idea, calling a boxing match between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury a “trick fight.”
Over a year later, Francis Ngannou is fighting Tyson Fury and has his own promotional company. Called ‘GIMIK Fight Promotions’, it will co-promote the boxing match scheduled for October. In MMA time with Ariel Helwani, the PFL heavyweight discussed the formation of his promotion company.
In the interview, Francis Ngannou hinted that he named the company after Dana White’s comments. Additionally, the PFL heavyweight contender added that if the UFC ever needs to book a trick fightto go ahead and give him a call.

“I don’t keep track of what Dana says,” Francis Ngannou declared in MMA time.” There are a lot of things that Dana says, so you can keep track of her. They don’t line up, so I don’t worry about that. She was just doing my thing, and at the end of the day, I took it out. It was a ‘trick fight,’ which is what he was trying to do, a trick fight.”
He continued, “Next time you have a stunt fight, you should send it to me, I’ll take care of it! Yes, GIMIK Fight Promotions, it’s a real thing. It’s a real thing, it’s not going to be, it’s already a real thing. It’s on, I’m going to set up events for sure. Trick fights.
