Expedia Launches New Travel Rewards Program, One Key – TODAY

If you’re a frequent traveler, road warrior, or only take trips once in a while, you’ve probably looked for ways to save on travel. Looking for deals early is one way to do it, but nothing beats earning rewards. during your vacation, and that’s where travel loyalty programs come into play. Today, Expedia Group announced the launch of One Keyits largest and most comprehensive rewards program with benefits to help you get the most out of your travels (even if you’re in the 83% of travelers who only take a few trips a year).

What is a key?

A key is a new travel loyalty and rewards program that allows you to earn OneKeyCash to use on future bookings through Expedia’s flagship brands (Expedia, vrbo and, plus offers additional member benefits at select properties, like room upgrades, food credits, or even a free bottle of wine upon arrival. Earning rewards on all three travel apps certainly gives you more choice, but One Key also offers travelers more flexibility and more value.

How does One Key work?

Gone are the days of struggling to calculate point conversions. With OneKeyCash, Expedia Group’s new rewards currency, the value you can use for your next trip is clear. To earn OneKeyCash, please make sure you have registered as a member and logged in before making any reservations.

To give travelers more flexibility, you can earn and use rewards across the Expedia Group travel ecosystem, including flights, hotels, vacation rentals, cruises, activities, and more. These different parts of a trip are considered “trip elements”. So, for example, if a member books two nights at a hotel and a three-day car rental, they would earn five travel items.

Members will receive 2% OneKeyCash for every dollar spent on eligible hotels, vacation rentals, activities, packages, car rentals and cruises, and 0.2% OneKeyCash for every dollar spent on eligible flights. Depending on your tier status, you can also earn up to 3x OneKeyCash on VIP access properties.

One Key Membership Tiers

To bring more value to travelers, you’ll be immediately rewarded with instant member discounts that keep increasing; Just signing up will qualify you for Blue Tier status. Here’s what you need to reserve to qualify for each membership level and some of the benefits offered:

Does OneKeyCash expire?

To prevent your OneKeyCash rewards from expiring, all you have to do is earn or redeem points at least once every 18 months. Please note that OneKeyCash can only be used on participating US dollar ‘Pay Now’ reservations and vacation rentals across all three travel apps.

And don’t worry if you haven’t used all of your existing Expedia Rewards points yet: They’ll be converted to OneKeyCash and automatically transferred to your new One Key account, according to the company.
