Adam Zampa’s 420 jersey number for LA Knight Riders sweeps MLC – The Indian Express

That has been the question of many when the Australian spinner donned the number on his back in the opening week of the first Major League Cricket (MLC) for the Los Angeles Knight Riders.
It is not the first time that Zampa wears this number. Last year in the T20 International League, the Australian had the same number on his back, but Zampa has not heard about the reason.

In the first week of the new US franchise league, it induced a series of speculations. One of them was a possible reference to April 20, or 4/20 as it is written in the United States, known as 420 Day, a holiday celebrated by many marijuana users in the United States and in other parts of the world.
The fact that the LA Knight Riders played their first MLC game against the Texas Super Kings on opening night further fueled speculation, given recent US state hearings to examine the legalization of marijuana for recreational use. .
Coming off their first two outings in MLC 2023, the LA Knight Riders sit at the bottom of the point standings of six teams with back-to-back losses and will take on the San Francisco Unicorns on Tuesday, July 18.
